I love these What I Know Now gems from Ellyn Spragins. Every once in a while I turn to them for a little reminding and refreshment: Ellyn's vivid snapshots and the no-nonsense, honest and sometimes humorous advice style. I've picked up some good tips and internalized them. I always remember Olympia Dukakis remembering herself at the kitchen table feeling forlorn. Her letter to her younger self made a strong impression on me. I read mostly non-fiction and a lot about women so the series is right up my alley.

Keep Searching : The Secrets of Success : Eight Self-Help Classics That Have Changed the Lives of Millions (Gildan Audio Books)

I don't often rate items here on Amazon but I felt it necessary after reading some of the reviews here. A number of critics have blasted the recording because of the "boring narrator." Which narrator are you talking about? The one that reads the first 2 books or the other 3 narrators? I am only on book 7 (out of 8) but so far there seems to be a total of 4 narrators.

It seems obvious that the critics never got past the first 2 books. Furthermore, I found his voice pleasant enough and did not feel as if I was being put to sleep. These books are classics with a lot of heady ideas. Personally I feel that some people are just not ready to accept these ideas and so thier minds rebel and force them to do things like go to sleep...
